# Website analytics

> How this documentation and the DiscordMute website measure usage, and what the session recorder captures.

This documentation and the [DiscordMute website](https://mute.yonn2222.com) use Umami, an analytics tool the operator hosts on his own server. No third-party analytics provider receives the data.

- No cookies and no tracking across other sites.
- Your IP address is not stored.
- Page views, referrers, browser and device type, language and approximate country are counted, together with clicks on the main buttons and links.
- A session recorder captures how a page is used, such as mouse movement, clicks and scrolling, so the operator can see where readers get stuck. Input fields, for example the search, are masked and not recorded.

The full details, the legal basis and your options to object are in the [privacy policy](https://mute.yonn2222.com/privacy). Blocking `umami.yonn2222.com` in your browser turns analytics off and does not affect the documentation.
